This event was the first in a series of health crises that stretched over months turning into years. Postpartum depression repeated ruptured ovarian cysts, hiatal hernia, medication reactions, and repeated infections plagued her, and the constant need for medical intervention left Jessica physically and emotionally drained.

Determined to keep her life intact, Jessica continued to push through her pain. She relied on prescribed medications to function as a wife, mother, and business owner. For years, her voice was silenced. It wasn’t until Jessica entered a dual-diagnosis treatment facility that she began to reclaim control of her life. There, she learned about the science of addiction and mental health, gaining the tools to understand her brain and begin the healing process.
