Finding an Uber Ride at the Airport is Now Easier

Uber has revealed new product features aimed at making it easier to find a cab at the airport.

The ride-hailing business announced that it would be adding step-by-step directions to its app to help users navigate the airport and get from the gate to their Uber pick-up location. The updated instructions, which are currently accessible in over 30 airports across the world, include photographs of what customers see in the airport as they navigate to their flight.

In addition to assisting riders and drivers in locating each other, the upgrade promises to reduce traffic congestion and idle time for cars at the curb. This function will be offered at all three major airports in New York City (John F. Kennedy, LaGuardia, and Newark Liberty), Los Angeles International Airport, San Francisco International Airport, Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport, and Miami International Airport. Besides the cities mentioned, this service will be available in Arizona. So, for example, airport shuttles Scottsdale services will be much easier and quicker. Check the ETA for your preferred vehicle option 15-30 minutes before you’re ready to request a pick-up.

Uber (UBER) also announced on Tuesday that it would soon launch a new feature that will include a walking time estimate to help travellers better plan how long it will take to get to baggage claim and when to contact their cab after deplaning. Finally, the business announced that it will expand its Uber (UBER) Reserve products (which allow customers to reserve a ride up to 90 days in advance) so that travellers could book flights, hotels, and Uber (UBER) rides for prospective trips all at once.

The move comes just ahead of the peak Spring Break travel season, and follows the Transportation Security Administration’s announcement last month that it is ready for increased passenger volumes this spring as travel trends begin to flip back to post-pandemic level.
