DuckPond Technologies, Inc., headquartered in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, was founded in 2019 by Dartanyon A. Williams.
The company develops disruptive technologies designed to change how Americans protect themselves from the growing number of crimes violating consumer protections. Those include credit and debit card fraud, vehicular identity theft, cyber-attacks, payment processing fraud, and the varied forms of online fraud.
A serial entrepreneur, Williams also founded The DAW Group, LLC, a business consulting firm with focus areas in consumer protection, political strategy and brand development. At The DAW Group, Williams is a consultant and subject matter expert, and also serves as the Principal.
Williams is also an innovator who developed a system he calls Entreprenetics. With this system, he has engineered a formula to teach the mechanics and metrics of entrepreneurship.
He is also the best-selling author of a two-volume memoir titled “The Master Identity Thief: Testimony and Solutions of an Expert Witness”, and is in the process of writing his sophomore project, which is a non-fiction work with a focus on entrepreneurship.
Williams says: I would like to engage law enforcement and legislators and give them perspective on why these crimes exist and how to stop them at a high level. With DuckPond Technologies, I hope to advise the general public, but more importantly, those who are in a position to enact real change in our society.
In this interview, Williams shared his views on consumer protection and discussed his efforts to improve his hometown of Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
What successes have you seen in creating better protections for consumers?
The publication of my book is the first measure of success and paves the way for many that I am optimistic will follow, with the implementation of some, if not all, of the 60 legislative proposals that I offer in the appendix of my memoir. The second measure of success would have to be the filing of 10 pending patents. And third would be the founding of Duckpond Technologies Inc., to whom I transferred ownership of those 10 patents so that they can be brought to market for the betterment of mankind.
And what would you like to achieve in the near future?
On the consumer protection front: My primary interest is in becoming an advisor and content expert for those with widespread platforms like Tamron Hall, Oprah Winfrey, The Breakfast Club, etc. to continue to educate people on the detrimental challenges of the number one crime in America for the past 23 years in a row. It is also for this reason that I would like the opportunity to testify before Congress.
In terms of entrepreneurship, finalizing my new book and the ancillary products and projects that will accompany it brings me real excitement. Unveiling the formula to help seasoned and aspiring entrepreneurs launch to the next level is something that I am looking forward to with anticipation.
What are the products and services offered by DuckPond Technologies Inc. that provide something different to consumers than other companies?
Duckpond Technologies, Inc. is developing a mobile game application, remote voting technology and fintech that will eliminate 99.9% of payment card fraud. I strongly believe that these product renderings and service offerings will lend a measure of disruption to established markets.
Can you provide some insight into how we can better protect consumers from fraud? Or how consumers can protect themselves?
Our leaders and legislators must take the initiative to educate themselves and act accordingly, as the status quo has proven that we cannot wholeheartedly rely or depend on them to provide protection for us in totality. Thus, it is incumbent upon the consumer to educate themselves and protect both their families and their futures. Consumer education remains the best form of protection.
You are very active in your local community, especially in Baton Rouge. What are the main issues you’d like to address, and do you have an idea of how that should be accomplished?
You are correct. I have proposed to stay active in my community and always serve my fellow man in ways that I can be an asset. I have seven areas of focus and priority that I have committed my time, talent and treasure to. They are:
- Childhood Poverty
- Consumer Protection (IDT)
- Entrepreneurship
- Homelessness
- Human Trafficking Prevention
- Mental Health Awareness
- Social Justice Intervention
– Criminal Justice Reform
– Human Rights
And the way we address each of these is through collaboration and care. If we come together around a common cause and leverage our collective resources and capacity and be willing to make a sacrifice for someone less fortunate, we can make a profound difference in our communities, cities, and this country.
You ran for a Congressional seat in 2020. Do you have future political plans? What are they and what do you think you can bring to public service?
If you had posed this question six months ago, I would have told you that I have retired from running for public office; but with each passing headline, my position is “it all depends.” I am fully confident that I can bring a fresh perspective, an innovative approach, an inclusive platform, and be a servant-leader centered on public service. So, I’d say the jury is still out on what is next in this regard. So, stay tuned.
