What is Cloud Computing?

Cloud computing includes the delivery of computing services mostly likely of servers, storage, databases, networking, software, analytics and much more from Internet i.e. cloud. There are various companies who offer these computing services preferably known as cloud providers and typically charge for per services based on its utilization. It basically allows an individual or entity to acquire and recoil data to a platform which will be also available to others. The third-party cloud service provider enables enterprises to focus more on their core businesses instead of expending resources on IT infrastructure and maintenance. It is also been termed that cloud computing allows enterprises to get their applications run faster and lessen the maintenance. This helps an organization to sustain with the fluctuating demand. To be precise, it helps in creating new apps and services, host websites and blogs, deliver software on demand, analyse data for patterns and to make predictions.
History: The term “cloud computing” was popularized with Amazon.com with the releasing of its Elastic Compute Cloud product in 2006, references to the phrase “cloud computing” appeared as early as 1996, with the first known mention in a Compaq internal document. The cloud symbol was used to represent networks of computing equipment in the original ARPANET by as early as 1977, and the CSNET by 1981— both predecessors to the Internet itself. The word cloud was utilized as a metaphor for the term Internet.
