Fingerprint is one of the secure ways to protect your data and the well-known US based Biometric technologies company Synaptics has developed ‘Turnkey’, a USB port compatible fingerprint scanner to secure laptops and computers.
Any computer that has a full-sized USB port can suddenly behave as if it had a fingerprint scanner of its own. It is small enough that it can sit nondescript inside a USB port. Synaptics also makes no mention of USB Type-C support. At the moment, very few things outside enterprise settings make use of fingerprint authentication; this module will mostly benefit enterprise customers.
Users need to put the scanner into a USB port in their systems after registering their fingerprints. Once registered, fingerprint becomes the primary way to access a system through a single touch of a finger.
