Third Store in the Greater Toronto Area Announced by Eataly

In October, Eataly launched a new location in Toronto, this time at the west end’s Sherway Gardens shopping center. The store is the specialty food retailer’s second location; a third will come in 2024 at the CF Shops at Don Mills in north Toronto.

The additional locations are a part of a growth strategy that calls for the construction of 20 locations across North America over the course of the next five years, in addition to the five locations that will open in the next two years.

Tommaso Brusò, CEO of Eataly North America, was in attendance at the event and spoke with Grocery Business.

“The experience is what sets Eataly apart from other gourmet food outlets. We wanted you to feel as though you were eating and shopping in Italy, therefore we developed the store’s features and overall experience. Creating a genuine Italian experience in North America is the goal. And we use the food we sell and prepare in-store for this. In addition, we intend to provide culinary workshops for families who wish to learn how to prepare real Italian dishes, such as pasta.

“The Sherway Gardens store is unique since it is one of just two cities in North America where we have multiple locations. The other is Toronto. However, we are aware that this is only the start, and we are eager to continue telling our story in Canada during the upcoming year and beyond.

Baso continues, “Eataly plans to expand its private label offerings in pasta, sauces, and other products.” The firm just introduced its panettone under the new narrative brand.
