The Journey from the First Product to the Current Advancements
The first product created by SnoopWall was PrivacySHIELD, a consumer-focused mobile security product that has protected all SmartPhones, even the infected ones. They launched it in 2013 and gained great notoriety in the mainstream media for being one of the first companies to provide an actual ‘app layer’ firewall for mobile devices. The problem with this solution is that most consumers don’t care nor do they want to pay for mobile security. SnoopWall then evolved this technology to make it AppSHIELD SDK, more focused on being an embedded app layer firewall, only to run from within mobile banking, mobile wallet, and mobile commerce applications. This allowed them to grow revenues by leveraging the same technology, from a fair and reasonable licensing payment, i.e. B2B model, instead of the no-payment B2C model. As a result, over 100 financial institutions, and growing, are using AppSHIELD SDK to secure their mobile banking experiences for their customers.
The team is now working on integrating their MobileSHIELD for android and iOS as well as their WinSHIELD for Microsoft Windows with the NetSHIELD Enterprise appliance so that they can also be managed through their command center.
