National Electric Vehicle Sweden (NEVS) has partnered with technology firm Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) to accelerate the setup of their global electric vehicle production. Electrical vehicles are considered as nonpolluting green vehicles and gets much impressed by climate conscious authorizes and customers.
In this project, HPE will create a global manufacturing IT platform for NEVS that will operate across plants in Sweden and in China. To support production, HPE will deploy proprietary and proven solution templates, based on the company’s past experience of establishing car production plants around the world.
As a part of project HPE will design, build and operate an integrated end-to-end solution for NEVS’ existing manufacturing plant in Trollhättan, Sweden and a new plant in Tianjin, China. The solution spans from IT infrastructure to business processes and is based on SAP HANA in-memory computing and proven SAP automotive solutions, running on HPE technology.
“We are entering a highly competitive and disruptive market, so we need a partner who can both help us accelerate the setup of our electric vehicle production and give us the agility we need to quickly adapt,” said Mattias Bergman, President of NEVS. “Hewlett Packard Enterprise had the best-engineered solutions enable us to achieve these goals, and they convinced us with their technology leadership, collaborative approach and proven track record in the automotive industry,” Mattias added.
HPE’s solution will replace the majority of NEVS’ present manufacturing application landscape, creating a globally standardized and integrated manufacturing IT platform. This improvement will support a high-volume and highly flexible production capability, which will provide NEVS with the more flexibility to adapt their operation to changing market conditions and requirements. Prepared for Industrial Internet concepts, the new platform will also provide NEVS full control and planning capability of the entire value chain from incoming order to final dispatch of a product.
“The NEVS is one of the most exciting undertakings in the industry, leading a proud heritage of traditional car manufacturing directly to the new world of connected mobility—and we are proud to be part of that journey,” said Jan Zadak, Senior V.P. and G. M., Enterprise Services EMEA, HPE. “Working closely with NEVS, HPE will lay the foundation for a production environment which accelerates the time it takes to go from idea to value,” Jan added.
