Network Visibility and Security Intelligence
Lancope is a leading provider of network visibility and security intelligence to protect enterprises against today’s top threats. By analyzing NetFlow, IPFIX and other types of network telemetry, its flagship StealthWatch® System delivers Context-Aware Security Analytics to quickly detect a wide range of attacks from APTs and DDoS to zero-day malware and insider threats. By combining continuous lateral monitoring across enterprise networks with user, device and application awareness, Lancope accelerates incident response, improves forensic investigations and reduces enterprise risk. Lancope’s security capabilities are continuously enhanced with threat intelligence from its StealthWatch Labs research team. Lancope provides the following products:
The StealthWatch Management Console (SMC): With the help of the SMC, administrators can easily view, understand and act upon a plethora of network and security data all through a single interface.
The StealthWatchFlowCollector: The FlowCollector collects and analyzes massive amounts of network data to obtain comprehensive visibility for early threat detection.
The StealthWatchFlowSensor: The FlowSensor identifies applications in use throughout the network for improved network and security troubleshooting, also providing valuable visibility into virtualized infrastructure.
The UDP Director™: The UDP Director greatly simplifies the integration and distribution of multiple types of network and security data across the enterprise.
SLIC Threat Feed: The StealthWatch Labs Intelligence Center (SLIC) Threat Feed draws upon global threat intelligence to provide an additional layer of protection from botnets and other sophisticated attacks.
The StealthWatchIDentity™ Appliance:StealthWatchIDentity allows administrators to quickly reveal who is behind specific security or performance issues on the network for faster remediation.
ProxyWatch™: The ProxyWatch solution enables organizations to achieve additional visibility and security context from records within proxy devices.
Pinpointing that customers are seeking greater value and security, Lancope has focused on helping customers derive more value from their existing network architecture and other IT investments as a key component of building a security strategy. This comes in the form of providing added visibility and security context as enterprise networks expand and become more open, including the addition of mobile devices, cloud infrastructure and other applications.
As enterprises increasingly realize the need to go beyond merely shoring up their perimeter defenses, the Specialized Threat Analysis and Protection (STAP) market will continue to grow. Lancope’sStealthWatch®System gained traction in the STAP market in 2014 and became one of the leaders in the internal network analysis segment, according to a recent report from the International Data Corporation (IDC). With Cisco’s support, Lancope will continue to make significant strides in this market.
Cisco recently announced its intent to acquire Lancope, formalizing a successful partnership that is founded on a shared ideology of the network as the source of truth. Moving forward with this transition, Lancope is on the brink of an expansive chapter in its history of providing network visibility and context aware security analytics with the backing of Cisco, a world-class leader. Together, they can provide the most comprehensive outside in/inside out security available on the market. Both of them are looking forward to a bright future.

Valuable suggestions for startups by Mike Potts
Trust in your instincts. Empower your team; believe in your product and yourself. Dare to do something unconventional. Give it everything you have and continue to surround you with the best people. And maybe most importantly, learn how to take criticism and turn it into a positive. For entrepreneurs just starting out there will be many hurdles to overcome and moments of self-doubt. The ability to step back from what is assuredly your baby and see it for its flaws as well as its strengths is invaluable.
