Glory Days Grill: Committed to the Love of Food, Sports, Community and Its Franchise Owners

There are two kinds of people in the world. In addition, if you are an avid fan of watching live sports broadcasts, we invite you to read further in this article. You may also want to explore Joehandpromotions for schedules and more information. Couple the latter experience with delicious food and beverages, and you have got yourself a winning combination of love, happiness, and gratification.
As guests enter the welcoming front doors of their neighborhood Glory Days Grill (GDG), the smell of great food, enjoyment of sports, and the cohesive commitment to the community come to life. In fact, these three pillars define GDG as a sports-themed family-friendly American grill and bar. Strolling through the food items, the award-winning menu is comprised of freshly prepared appetizers, entrees, wings, and burgers as well as fresh salmon, hand-tossed pizza and hearty sandwiches.
With an abundance of TVs to watch the big games, news, cartoons, or just about anything, and every table featuring a speaker to tune into whatever you are watching, guests immediately experience GDG’s entertainment appeal.
Add to that cutting-edge technology such as the state-of-the-art Kitchen Display System (KDS)  in the back-of-the-house, a high tech Entertainment System in the front-of-the-house, and online ordering powered by OLO, GDG is a modern restaurant experience that reflects upon the Glory Days of past and present while also being positioned for the Glory Days ahead.
In addition to traditional dine-in services, GDG offers to go-to services, catering, banquet/party facilities, private rooms, patios, parties, and special events.
In April 2020, GDG celebrated its 24th year in business and has expanded its footprint from its home in the greater Washington, DC area (Virginia, Maryland and West Virginia) to Florida, Georgia and North Carolina. Now, it is all set to offer franchise opportunities across the United States to qualified operators.

“Our commitment to food, sports, and community is what has kept Glory Days Grill as a leader in the industry for over 24 years”

The Brainchild of Three Restaurant Veterans
Jeff Newman, Richard Danker, and Robert Garner, teamed up to open the first GDG in Burke, Virginia, in April 1996. The idea was to form a neighborhood restaurant that served delicious food and emphasized the positive attributes of sports.
They envisioned their restaurant to be a community gathering place to watch sports and to bring the family for a memorable dining experience. As such, countless hours were spent trying out a multitude of food offerings to ensure that nothing would go on the menu that wasn’t an ‘A’ item.
Even today, the founders still take part in the company’s day-to-day operations. Together, they state, “a founder owned and led company has a level of passion that can’t be replicated with private equity.”
Franchising with Leaders in the Restaurant Industry
What really sets GDG apart is its core strength of leadership among its corporate staff and the franchise owners who have joined the Glory Days Grill family.
A strength of GDG corporate executive team is its combined 250 years of restaurant management experience which provides comprehensive support to GDG franchise owners. GDG currently has a 50/50 split of company-owned restaurants and franchised restaurants, so the performance of both company-owned and franchised restaurants are equally important to the success and overall health of the system.
GDG has raised the bar by adding the industry’s best leaders as franchise partners to the GDG team.
For example, Playball Florida, led by Outback Steakhouse co-founder Bob Basham, has opened 14 GDG restaurants in two states in recent years.
Carolina Performance Food Group (CPFG) is a partnership between Kat Huff, a previous Managing Partner of a high-volume Glory Days Grill company-owned unit, and veteran former multi-unit IHOP franchise owners  who teamed up to develop a territory in Raleigh, NC. CPFG which will eventually hold eight GDG restaurants in its portfolio.
Communities and Guests First
Since its inception in 1996, Glory Days Grill has been the neighborhood gathering place for families, friends, co-workers, and teams of all types. Their fans celebrate happy moments or “glory moments” at Glory Days Grill restaurants, whether it is a significant moment like winning a game, birthday party, an ‘A’ on a math test, or even a loss of a first tooth.  Communities and guests first have been the formula for the long-term success of GDG for over 24 years.
Whether relaxing on a game night, enjoying casual dining, sipping signature drinks or craft beer, or holding a private party, guests will enjoy GDG’s excellent food quality in a modern and sports-themed restaurant environment.
GDG Coming to a Neighborhood Near You
Being a reasonably priced grill and bar, GDG has grown to become a staple in the communities where it operates. Currently operating in six states, the company plans to expand across the US with the very best franchise partners who have a passion for food, sports and community.
