Elon Musk to Build His Own Utopian Town

Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla, Twitter, SpaceX, and the Boring Corporation, is now a town owner. The multibillionaire is purportedly working on his own “utopia” in Texas, which he intends to call Snailbrook.

According to the Wall Street Journal, Musk intends to establish the town outside of Austin near his Boring and SpaceX facilities, which are now under construction. According to Facebook photos, the location already contains a collection of modular homes, a pool, an outdoor sports area, and a gym, as well as signage that say, “Welcome, snailbrook, tx, est. 2021.”

Musk’s plans involve constructing a residence for his staff and charging them around $800 per month for one and two-bedroom residences, with the condition that they would have 30 days to evacuate the premises if they were laid off or quit.

Throughout the years, IT businesses have provided several on-campus amenities to attract employees and, in some cases, motivate them to work longer hours. Musk may take that idea a step farther by establishing his own business town.

Elon Musk wants employees at his companies Boring Co., Tesla, and SpaceX, all of which have substantial manufacturing facilities near Austin to be able to reside in new homes with below-market rentals, according to the story. The Snailbrook project is also said to have plans for more than 100 residences, as well as neighborhood amenities like a pool and an outdoor sports area.

Tesla launched a new Gigafactory production site in Austin last year. Musk’s SpaceX and Boring Co. also have facilities in Texas, and according to a February story from the Austin American Statesman, Boring Co. has been in negotiations with Austin about the possibility of creating tunnels throughout the city.
