Jack Dorsey, then CEO of popular social media platform, Twitter stepped down as CEO on Monday. Jack Dorsey named Parag Agrawal, 37, as the new chief executive of Twitter. Parag Agrawal has been with Twitter since 2011 and became Chief Technology Officer (CTO) in 2017.
Jack Dorsey in his tweet said that it is time for the founders to step down and hand over the complete control to the new generation. Parag Agrawal has been with the company for a long time and is a confidant of former CEO, Jack Dorsey. Along with that Parag Agrawal was a part of many strategic initiatives that twitter took in the last few years. This made him the standout of the crowd and helped Jack Dorsey unanimously choose him as the new leader.
“He’s Been my choice for some time given how deeply he understands the company and its needs” Jack Dorsey mentioned in his tweet and his message to the company’s employees, as he stepped down from the post.
