Google brings Meet to Gmail on mobile

Google revealed today that its video conferencing services are further integrated with the mobile Gmail. Now, after clicking on the link to a meeting event, Gmail (Android or iOS) users can participate in a meeting right from their box.
Of course, that is not completely different from how things work today, where Gmail takes you right into the Meet App, but the biggest difference here is that users no longer have to install the dedicated Meet App to join a Gmail call.
The second and likely greater change is that a new Meet tab at the bottom of this page is now available in the mobile Gmail app. The new tab will show all of the users’ upcoming meetings in the Google Calendar, and allows them to start a meeting, share a connection or schedule a meeting. Users can also close down this tab if they do not prefer the Meet integration.
Earlier, the company integrated Meet into the Gmail web app by making it free for everyone.
