Microsoft’s Bing team has discovered a way to track the wildfire like spread of the novel coronavirus across the world. It has launched a web portal to track the progress of the Covid-19 worldwide.
The updated country-wise infection statistics can be viewed on the website. It has an interactive map which allows users to select a country. It shows the exact number of cases and a variety of related articles.
The data for the website is being aggregated from sources like World Health Organization (WHO), the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC), according to sources.
Two days after Trump announced that Google has started working on a portal for Covid-19 for US citizens, Microsoft announced the website.
Verily, a subsidiary of Alphabet focused on healthcare services has built Google’s website. “More than 1,700 engineers are currently working on the site,” said Trump during a press briefing last week.
Globally, the virus has affected 2 lakh people till date and over 6,500 deaths have been caused.
