One of the China’s dominant social messaging app Tencent Holdings’ Weixin, which is known as WeChat outside China declared on Tuesday 04 January 2022, that daily count of mini program’s active user hit the mark of 450 million in the year 2021.
Although it shows a growth of 13% over the year 2020, it still pales in comparison to 2020’s phenomenal growth of 33% over 2019. WeChat is similar in looks and functioning like other apps on Android OS (Google) or iOS (Apple) but is less data sensitive than the counterparts. It is key to Tencent’s e-commerce platform buildup efforts.
