Volkswagen to Unveil an Electric Car at an Affordable Price

The competition for an affordable electric car heated up again today with the announcement of Volkswagen’s ID. 2all concept, which the company claims will eventually be launched and cost less than $27,000.

The business revealed the electric automobile, which is presently simply a concept, in a blog post. The car has “front-wheel drive, a range of up to 450 km, unique technology features like Travel Assist, t, IQ. LIGHT or Electric Vehicle Route Planner, and a new Volkswagen design language.”

According to Thomas Schäfer, CEO of VW Passenger Vehicles, the ID. 2all embodies where the firm wants to take its brand in the future.

“We are transforming the company rapidly and fundamentally – with the clear objective of making Volkswagen a genuine Love Brand. The ID. 2all shows where we want to take the brand. We want to be close to the customer and offer top technology in combination with fantastic design. We are implementing the transformation at pace to bring electric mobility to the masses,” said the CEO.

While the ID. 2all is still only a concept, Volkswagen hopes to release a production car in the European market in 2025. Even better, according to the business, it will cost less than 25,000 Euros.

The ID. 2all will be Volkswagen’s first car based on its modular electric drive (MEB) platform, according to the firm. With the upgraded MEB Entry platform, the ID. 2all is equipped with especially efficient drive, battery, and charging technologies,” the company adds. It boasts a strong electric drive motor with an output of 166 kW/226 PS and a WLTP range of up to 450 kilometers.
