M&As Reached a Four-Year High of $30.3 Billion in the March Quarter

According to research, mergers and acquisitions began off strong, reaching a four-year high of USD 30.3 billion in the first quarter of 2022, breaking the global trend of deal-making falling dramatically.

In value terms, deal activity increased by 5.6 percent in January-March 2022 compared to the first quarter of 2021, making it the most active first quarter since 2018, when it reached USD 31.1 billion.

According to M&As statistics compiled by Refinitiv, an LSEG subsidiary that is one of the world’s critical financial markets data and infrastructure providers, M&As activity increased by 29.6% in the first quarter of 2022, making it an epic quarterly number ever.
